I was half-listening this morning to NPR as I (late as usual) hurried to get ready for work. However, I was stopped cold when I heard this, spoken by President Obama as he introduced Sonia Sotomayor as his nominee for Supreme Court Justice: “It’s my understanding that Judge Sotomayor’s interest in the law was sparked as a young girl by reading the Nancy Drew series.”
Hello! Books really DO change lives. It led this woman from a humble upbringing in the Bronx to, possibly, the highest court in our land.
