At the end of each school year I have the most fortunate opportunity to gift each child I read with a free book. TO KEEP (forever? Yes, forever). This year I was able to choose a variety of wonderful titles, all favorites of mine and the kids that I knew they would like. One by one, the kids choose which book they would like to take home. At one school a boy chose the book Dinosaur Train by John Steven Gurney and happily informed me that “I don’t have this book!” He was so pleased with his choice that he planted a big fat kiss on its cover.

Learning to read begins from birth. Children who have caregivers who read with them, talk to them, and LOVE them become readers. It's not just me saying it - it's SCIENCE! Have fun and share books - children who think books are fun want to become readers!
