Another (besides Where the Wild Things Are) book from my childhood (ie. originally published in 1982 – yikes!) is making its debut as a feature film: Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. This is a longer picture book, and so the screenwriters probably didn’t have to work as hard to come up with a viable plot for a two-hour movie out of a 32 page book. See the movie version of The Cat In The Hat for an example of how it should NOT be done.
Anyway, the trailer looks kinda cool. I mean, c’mon, giant pancakes in 3-D? Awesome! And now, I’m off to find a large quantity of pans and about a million boxes of jello. I need a bouncy castle.
