Colorado folks – if you have kids ages 2 to 8, there’s a wonderfully fun event happening this weekend that you should know about! Reach Out and Read Colorado is an organization that supports children’s early literacy development by empowering doctors to educate parents about the importance of reading and “prescribe” reading aloud, and by getting free books into children’s hands and homes. On Saturday, Feb. 26, they’re hosting “Read and Romp“, and event where kids can interact with their favorite stories and have a great time! Clifford the Big Red Dog will be in attendance, and kids will be able to dress up like Fancy Nancy, interact with Cars and Trucks and other “Things that Go”, among other delightful activities. Lunch will also be provided, courtesy of Chipotle. Tickets are only $10.
Miss Mary
Learning to read begins from birth. Children who have caregivers who read with them, talk to them, and LOVE them become readers. It's not just me saying it - it's SCIENCE! Have fun and share books - children who think books are fun want to become readers!
