Flannel Friday: 5 Little Snowmen

18 Jan

Long time no post, y’all! Sorry for that. I hope to be fully back WITH A VENGEANCE soon. Okay, maybe not with a or any vengeance.

I didn’t have time to make these pieces out of felt, so I made them in MS Word using the shape drawing feature. The sun is clipart.

snowmen

The rhyme I used with them goes like this (we also did the actions):

5 little snowmen standing in a row (5 fingers)

each with a hat and a bright red bow (hand on head, two hands pull bow)

Out came the sun and it shone all day (hands over head in circle shape)

And 1 little snowman melted away (wiggle fingers down to ground)

4 little snowmen… etc.

As each snowman melted, I replaced them with a melted version:

At the end, we’re left with nothing but a row of puddles:

Here’s a closeup of the snowmen. Each has a number on it corresponding to its hat brim color:

The roundup today will be hosted by Katie at Story Time Secrets. And, as always, if you want to see ALL past flannels, click on the icon to the right to go to our pinterest page.

Happy flanneling!

Do you have a copy of the snowmen (and melting snowmen) available? I would love to make some for story time!

    Hi Mary,
I would love to get a copy of your 5 Little Snowmen flannel board set. Is that possible?
    Thanks,

Elizabeth, I don’t think I can because I made it in MS Word – copyright issues, you know. But I would be willing to email it to you!

The melted snowmen are positively adorable! I will have to recreate these myself someday!

I have a version of this, but I love the puddles — I’ll have to remake mine to include that. And I love having the numbers on the snowmen, then in the pool. Clever!

Love the details in the puddle! Very cute idea!

Hmmm…now you have me thinking that I could make my melting snowman from this week’s FFRU post so that when you turn him over, he is melted into a puddle. Ooooh, I like that! Definitely going to see how I can tweak him because I am already working on a new set of melting snowmen for the rhyme you used. I usually make my snowmen for that rhyme with different colored bows so we can discuss colors. I think I will add the numbers, too ~ great idea!

LQ, if you make your snowmen like the one I posted this week then you can make him “all better” and you won’t be sad. 😉

    Thanks for sharing this week!

I love the melted snowmen! So cute! I have a similar clip art set for this rhyme. I’ll have to make melted snowman clip art to go with it!

Didn’t think vengeance was in your repertoire! Love the melted version (but they leave me feeling little sad though)!
